Glebe School Partnership

Cross-continent collaboration with Glebe School

Written and shared by Glebe School 26-05-2023

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Rainbow Boosters, a remarkable project dedicated to supporting underprivileged children in India. Rainbow Boosters aims to provide these children with a small yet transformative boost by granting them access to the internet and a community through a newly built computer lab. This initiative ensures that these children do not get left behind in the digital age.

At Glebe Primary School, we firmly believe in an ethos that values the whole child. We strive to enable all children to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. It is our firm belief that education should be accessible to all, regardless of their background or circumstances. By partnering with Rainbow Boosters, we are actively working towards this vision and extending our commitment to the global community.

Rainbow Boosters was created by Pritesh and Bhavika Chauhan, parents of Rayan in 1S. Rayan shared that he uses his "Rainbow Boosters" to give him a small boost to help him get over the hill when cycling on the way to school over Austin's Lane. Inspired by his words, the campaign to offer a small yet transformative boost to those in need was born.

Mrs Penney, school Head says ‘the Rainbow Boosters' mission resonates deeply with our Glebe School values and principles. By providing underprivileged children in India with access to the internet and a community through a computer lab, they are bridging the digital divide and empowering these young minds to explore new horizons, learn, and grow. By supporting this project, we are contributing to their journey of discovery and transformation.’

We are excited that the opening of the computer lab is scheduled for Tuesday, June 27th. On the launch day, a group of students in India will connect with Rayan and a few of his friends in our ITC lab. They will share cultural references, create digital pen pals, and leverage the new technology. This exciting exchange will foster cultural understanding and provide our students with unique learning experiences.

The partnership will continue throughout the year with engaging STEAM challenges involving schools in India and the US. Additionally, our Year 3 students will connect with their counterparts in India, allowing them to learn about India first-hand and apply real-life examples to support their learning.
